The Skills That Shape My Approach

Before becoming an antenatal educator, I trained as a primary school teacher and spent 15 years sharing knowledge in a way that is clear, supportive, and accessible. I bring that same skill, patience, and care into my antenatal work.

Alongside this experience, I have completed additional training that enables me to support women with sensitivity and understanding, including:

  • Training with The Foundation for Infant Loss

  • Pregnancy and Infant Loss Practitioner

  • Rainbow Baby and Infertility Specialist

  • Mental Health First Aider (MHFA)

These tools allow me to hold space gently and respectfully, wherever you are in your journey to pregnancy and however your path has looked. My aim is always to offer a calm, compassionate environment where you feel understood, supported and safe.

How it started

Hi, I'm Laura

Like many women, my journey into birth began with excitement and very little real understanding. During my first pregnancy, we eagerly gathered everything we thought we needed. We attended a standard antenatal course, and while it gave me a lovely group of women, it didn’t truly prepare me for labour or birth. I went into spontaneous labour just two days after finishing work and starting maternity leave.

This was it, I was finally going to meet my baby. What I didn’t know then was that it would be another 56 hours before that moment arrived. Looking back, I can see how naïve and vulnerable I felt. I trusted the system completely, often nodding along without fully understanding my options or feeling confident enough to question them.

That birth experience will stay with me forever. It was challenging, emotional and deeply formative. And while it wasn’t easy, it became the beginning of something meaningful; the start of the path that eventually led me to support others with clarity, compassion and confidence.

About my journey

Finding my confidence & reclaiming my power

When I fell pregnant again quite quickly with my second baby, something shifted. This time, I chose to prepare differently. I took time to truly understand birth, to trust my body, and to embrace the power of informed choice. I approached labour with calm, confidence, and belief in myself, and my second birth was a completely different experience.

That experience changed me. It showed me what becomes possible when women feel informed, supported, and empowered. And it made one thing unmistakably clear: I wanted to help other women find their voice, their confidence, and their power- just as I had.

I began my antenatal training when my second baby was just eight days old.

Today, I work privately with expectant women and their birth partners, offering calm, personalised antenatal education.

By combining evidence-based guidance, a clear understanding of how birth works, and relaxation and mindset techniques inspired by hypnobirthing, I tailor each session to you, helping you approach birth with confidence, clarity and the support you deserve.

Working together

A truly personal approach

My approach is compassionate, evidence based and entirely centred around you, your needs, your preferences and your birth.

I believe every woman deserves preparation that leaves her feeling:

  • Calm, not overwhelmed

  • Confident, not uncertain

  • Supported, not alone

This work genuinely energises me. It’s an honour to walk alongside women during such a vulnerable and powerful time, helping them feel ready, informed, and deeply supported as they prepare to meet their baby.

I work privately with expectant women and their birth partners, either:

  • Face to face in the comfort of your home, or

  • Online, wherever you are

Both options allow for open, honest conversations and create a calm, trusting space where you can fully engage with your birth preparation. By taking the time to really understand your wants, needs, and expectations, I tailor each session specifically to you.

Nothing is rushed. Nothing is overwhelming. Everything is grounded, supportive and informed by evidence. After working together, you will:

  • Feel confident in your choices

  • Understand your options clearly

  • Feel supported, not judged

  • Trust your body and your instincts

Approach birth feeling calm, empowered, and ready Most of all, you’ll feel prepared, not just informed.

How I Support You Differently

Private, Calm and Truly Personal

I work exclusively through private sessions, giving you and your birth partner the space to fully engage, open up and feel safe to ask anything - without comparison, pressure or judgment.

Tailored to You, Not Templates

No two births are the same and no two courses I deliver are either. During our calls, I take the time to really get to know you: your wishes, your concerns, your hopes and your unique situation. From there, I personalise every session so that your preparation feels relevant, supportive and empowering. This is a personal investment in you - not a one size fits all approach.

Evidence-Based, Grounded in Real Experience

I share clear, evidence based information - the facts and the context - but I also speak from lived experience. As a mum of two young girls, I know first hand the difference that the right birth preparation can make. My first pregnancy was supported by very basic information; my second was entirely different - informed, calm and empowering. I’ve lived both, and I understand how transformative the right support can be, not only for the expectant mother but also for her birth partner(s).

Your Calm Voice and Biggest Cheerleader

I’m here to be your steady support - offering calm guidance, reassurance and gentle reminders of your wishes whenever you need them. Because I take time to understand your hopes and preferences so well, I can help you stay connected to them throughout your preparation.
